Well, I do have a Sturm Pioneer loadout... It would be a shame not to use it properly!
The only forseeable problem is that we site share with paintballers (it's actually a paintball site
) and the guy that owns the site is a right cnut!
....
So I maybe looking else where to run it.... But, I'll knock up some plans etc and will post them on here for anyone to use.

It's not so much that, he's just so tight! He want's everything for nothing, he wants the site improved, but wont pay for it, and when we've asked for the village or fort to be maintained, he just says we're more than welcome to come down when he's not there and fix things up!
He's done so little work at the site and repeatedly keeps asking the chap that organises the Airsoft there, for more money from us etc.
Plus, the major kick in th pills is that WE'VE kept the site in business for the past 4 years, as he's only recently been getting interest in the paintball, and thats b'cos another guy came to work for him (he's ok though )!
Anyway, enough of my thread hi-jacking!
was pondering this thread whilst reading various WW2 books on holiday. its quite tough because alot of the various battles etc were staged so it'd be difficult to provide contingency plans should one side be over ran early on. a few ideas did creep out though
operation varsity: siezing and holding bridges then advancing on set targets. hard to find a site with bridges i think
expedition into Norway: holding ground and recovering things like gold reserves, royal family members, foreign dignitaries etc
Operation Dynamo aka Dunkirk: protecting retreat to a set area over set times etc, quite difficult to do I think.
fall of berlin: russian game perhaps.
Siege of Tobruk: obviously we dont have a desert but the right site might pull it off.
General fighting through france after dday maybe to sieze german artillary positions or radar or something similar.
Part of the battle for Caen?
maybe a commando raid on a norwegian naval or U-Boat pen/research facility?
just rough ideas really, thought I'd put them up incase it sparked anyones creativity.
Caen was recently done by the Chef at his site down in Cornwall, perhaps something along the lines of attacking the port of Cherbourg, ... the axis pinned down with nowhere to go, but fighting tooth and nail to push the US and Brits Back.
quite a few operations during the battle for caen so could always choose another one. Cherbourg sounds good too. and maybe the retreat and extraction from Le Harve following dunkirk?
I'm sure that this one has been floated before but what about a game based on the Jedburgh operations?
We could use a large group of Huns hunting smaller group (3-4 bods) of Allied spec ops types with a decent sized unch of local resistance types ready to go toe to toe with the baddies when needed?
A big site, pre-planning of missions for the Jeds and a change from the slogging match that a lot of games get stuck into but I think this could be a goer at a decent sized site. What does everyone think?
A wicked idea mate and in fact pretty much the plot of the third CiA game held earlier this year in wales.
US and UK commandoes ( mixed force of paras/rangers/commandoes) aided by the resitance had to patrol and locate german AA guns and top secret v1 prototype and destroy it.
They were dropped in small groups and had to link up over a *massive* site while the germans patrolled in groups of 8 - 10 on foot and in vehicles.
So yeah top plan but sort of been done, shame you couldnt have gone, you would have loved it i reckon!

Yup been down, but would love to do that one again, the site was massive and we didn't use half of it.

A days game around Operation Epsom or Goodwood would work for a British/Allies versus Heer and SS. It would work at sites that are mixed open and woodland with little need for buildings.
The early days of June after D-day saw hard fighting for little gain by Allies or Germans but with the prize of breakout for the allies and throwing them back into the sea for the Germans. A hard attack and counter stroke scenario develops out of this with the Allies trying to reach and hold locations with the Germans trying to defend and then push them back beyond the Allies start lines.
If we can bring ourselves to do fictional scenarios a "Where Eagles Dare" "Went the day well" "SS-GB" one actually makes a lot of sense. We need a site with a number of buildings for a "village" for it to work but then we can have Germans dressed as British troops. American defenders, along with loyal British civilians. We can also add in German spies living in the village, secret weapon establishments and getting scientists in and out of locations.

I'd liek a seelowe/ssGB game but getting enough early war brits and germans could be a challenge.
Least all the yank players can play civvies and home guard!

Oh, I can think of a site that is *perfect* for it. Problem is, that the site is part of a Limestone Quarry, so when it gets hot in there it gets REAL HOT.
